Standard Flue Pipe (B VENT) Is Only Required To Vent This Water Heater. B VENT Is Easily Obtained At Your Local Plumbing, Heating Supply Or Home Center.
Turn on your hot water faucet and water is heated instantly as it flows through the coil. Paloma's burners shut off automatically as soon as you turn off the faucet. There is NO standby heat loss.
When the water flows through the water controls and the high efficient heat exchanger, the main burner is activated by the water flow and the water pressure differential. The Paloma water heater heats water instantaneously as it flows and only when it flows. Therefore, the temperature remains the same. There is no tank with reserve water waiting to be heated. Dial setting allows you to choose anywhere between the 60ºF and 100ºF temperature rise (Model PH-12M & PH-24M).
Suitable for Residential Use Just one Paloma supplies all the hot water you need in your home for shower, bath, dishwasher, laundry, etc.... Heavy simultaneous use may reduce the flow at a particular faucet.
Trying to understand when to select a Paloma Legacy Tankless instead of a solution from the contemporary Digital Tankless line?
Legacy Tankless have all been proven with years of use, and are ready to stand up to the rigors of difficult conditions where a Digital Tankless might not dare to tread.
If you can say YES to any of the following, you too may be a candidate for ownership of a Paloma Legacy Tankless:
| You still work on your 1970 Beetle because it “gets good gas mileage.” |
| Dylan lost his creds when he played electric at Newport in ’65. |
| The internet is convenient but not nearly as useful as the Whole Earth Catalog. |
More prosaically, the Legacy can be the right solution if you want to use your tankless under any of the following conditions:
| Low water pressure, from a well, for example |
| No electricity, or you want it to stand up to power outages. |
| Your installation will involve a long vertical vent run (unlike Digital Tankless, the Legacy are atmospherically-vented using less expensive, galvanized “B” vent). |
| Extensive diagnostics and error display |
Legacy Tankless come in three sizes, with the Legacy 24 the optimal model for whole-house applications.
Expect winter performance of 1~2 full showers, depending on your location, with 1-hour bath filling capability over 190 gallons.
The Legacy 24 features:
| Mechanical modulation to keep output temperatures consistent, even if you change the flow at the tap. |
| A knob controller used to set water temperature rise from 60~100o above inlet temperature. |
| Full performance at water pressure of just 12.9 psi. Minimum working pressure of just 2.4 psi. |
| A built-in Piezo igniter to easily light the standing pilot (so you can extinguish the pilot light when not in use to achieve greater overall energy efficiency) |
| A magnetic safety valve to stop gas flow when the pilot is extinguished. |
| Optional freeze protection kit to protect the unit against freezing conditions down to -5o F. |
The Paloma Legacy 24 is an excellent whole house and commercial hot water solution that will work in tough conditions where other tankless dare not go.
Modulating Unit
Turn on your hot water faucet and water is heated instantly as it flows through the heating coils. Paloma's burners shut off automatically as soon as you turn on the fucet. The Paloma modulating control automatically adjusts the flame to the water flow you select. Small water demand equals low flame. Large water demand equals high flame.
Paloma produces hot water only when and as much as you need. That's why you can save energy and money.
High Technology and Quality Design
Wall-mounted Paloma tankless water heaters are built to perform efficiently with very little maintenance. First class materials include a copper heat exchanger and combustion chamber, brass controls, stainless steel burners, and a hard baked porcelain exterior. Palomas are easy to service and all parts are easy to replace.
Freeze Protection Kit
Thermostatically controlled and keep water control body and water control case assemblies of heater protected againsy frozen damage to temperature of approximately -4º F (without wind-chill factor).
Features
• Endless hot water on demand • Energy saving design • Energy efficiency - 80% more efficient than tank type water heaters • Compact, space saving design • Thermocouple-magnetic pilot safety device • Stainless steel burner • Temperature limiting device • Gas pressure regulator • Drain plug | | • Flexible hot and cold water tubes • Over heat limiting device • Piezo igniter • Temerature adjusting spindle • Water regulator |
| Legacy 24 Extreme Winter Shower Performance |
| Simultaneous Showers Supported | GPM |
The Deep Sunbelt (60º inlet) | 2 | 6.5 |
The Far North (40º inlet) | 1 | 4.4 |
| This Guide indicates Legacy 24 performance at the coldest point in the year at water pressure of 12.9 psi and above. A standard shower is 2.5 GPM at 104o F. In order to get the full GPM and shower performance with the Legacy series, it is necessary to heat water at the HOT setting, and then mix with cold water. This will create scalding conditions in your hot water. USE WITH CAUTION! Check with your water supplier for actual local conditions. |
